The solution is not to blame the worker or promise a single ideal routine. Record start and end times, rotation direction, consecutive shifts, overtime, commute, breaks, on-call periods, and recovery days for at least two cycles. Add caregiving and second-job responsibilities. A person working permanent nights may build a different strategy from someone rotating every few days.
